Hi — I’m Alona Krutko. I make functional ceramics with a quiet, modern silhouette and tactile details (subtle carving, matte breaks, soft edges).

WORK

My studio work focuses on calm, neutral surfaces — warm beige, stone grey, and deep brown — inspired by wood, rock, and winter light.

MATERIALS

I work mainly with stoneware and earthenware, chosen for their warmth and durability. Most pieces are fired between cone 4 and cone 6, depending on the clay body and glaze.

My glazes lean toward quiet, neutral tones — warm beige, soft grey, muted blue, deep brown. I prefer finishes that feel natural to the hand: satin, matte, or lightly textured rather than glossy.

Much of my glazing is layered and tested in small batches. I allow for subtle breaks and movement in the surface, letting the kiln do part of the work.
